One Week Rule

So I've decided that I get a week of really awesome, happy sessions, and then the following week start slipping back downwards.  Down I go until the fire is reignited by a good session and then the cycle starts over.

What does this mean?  I had a pretty pathetic session today with a RB/unconfident horse, and didn't deal with it well at all.  Even when I think, "I'm going to take the time it takes" and "Slow it right beat's fast and wrong" and I try hard to stick to my principles, I still end up bungling my sessions after a week of happy playing.

I'm going to make myself tape my freestyle audition tomorrow.  I'm expecting it to be awful, but maybe Cal and I will be all better tomorrow and full of inspiration to go on.  Who knows.  I can fill my head with positivity, be patient, and still days will come where Cal is going to be unconfident and I am unable to deal with it.
