Undemanding Time

I had a rather dismal session about a week ago.  Cal's confidence had plummeted again, and though I spent an hour outside playing with thresholds, it went very poorly.  It was cold out, and my focus was more on getting to the arena and out of the cold rather than taking care of my horse.  With all the breakthrough's and wonderful improvements we've been making lately, I started spending less and less time with thresholds and taking care of his confidence, and more and more time being direct line and goal oriented.

After my unhappy session, I was gifted with a much nicer day, and spent time just hanging out with the herd.  Yes, undemanding time.  Lyssi and Cal both made huge changes, yawning and licking and chewing.  Best of all, getting curious about me!  Cal starting looking interested again, coming over rather than standing uncertainly or leaving.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much chance to play this week with classes and it getting dark so early.  But I went out today and spent some more time rebuilding my rapport with Cal.  Had a boring session with Lys, too.  I made a discovery that I never had a good basis with the seven games with her, so I was going over them.  At first she really was connecting and getting better, but now I think she's got them and is bored and I need to move on.  Mildly lbe she is, but still a lbe.  =)

So that's where I'm at.
